Current shunt type FL-2 for measuring direct currents up to 20A is suitable as an addition to panel multimeters for measuring higher current consumption.
The voltage drop at 20A is equal to 75mV.
The shunt is a low-resistance resistor connected in series with the load (device). It is used to measure or detect the current flowing through the load. If current flows through the load (and therefore through the shunt), a voltage drop occurs on the shunt, which is proportional to the flowing current according to Ohm's law; this drop can be measured with a voltmeter.
